報告要旨:
In this talk, the speaker advances a social evolutionary interpretation of the macro-history and grand theories of international politics. Specifically, he provides an explanation why human society had been so bloody for much of our history, and why the world seems to have evolved into a stage in which conquest is no longer considered legitimate. He also attempts to answer a more philosophical question: why a particular grand theory of international politics seems to fit only a particular period of human history. Finally, the speaker advocates a social evolutionary approach for understanding human society: human society has always been a social evolutionary system.
