離任研究会 “The Current Acculturation Strategies of Koreans living in Japan”（李 賢鮮 准教授）が開催されました

  2017年2月23日（木）の午後、2012年4月に本研究所新世代アジア研究部門に着任された李賢鮮准教授の離任研究会が開かれ、“The Current Acculturation Strategies of Koreans living in Japan”と題する研究報告が行われた。
  李准教授によると、在日朝鮮人は朝鮮総連よる強い影響を受けて、戦後の長い間に閉鎖的なコミュニティを維持してきた。社会保障の面においても、独自の制度を運営し、日本政府の力を借りることなく、介護等のサービスを提供してきた。そのため、在日朝鮮人コミュニティは21世紀初頭まで日本社会と融合することなく、高い独自性を持っていた。
  ところが、世代を重ねるにつれて、在日朝鮮人の内部においても世代間の差が顕著になり、拉致問題の影響による日本社会の変容や朝鮮総連の資金難といった問題も相まって、近年では、在日朝鮮人コミュニティが融合的な戦略を取るようになった。
  具体的には、介護サービスに関する事例研究を通じて、在日朝鮮人コミュニティが日本の介護保険制度や関連する法律、多文化共生を後押しする政策といった資源を利用するようになり、他のエスニックコミュニティと連携して、高齢化問題に対応しようとする動きも見られるようになって、転換期を迎えたことが実証された。このような変化は、日本社会、在日朝鮮人コミュニティのエリート層、及び一般在日朝鮮人の3つの要素の相互作用の結果であり、今後も継続するだろうと予測される。
  報告後、会場からは、在日朝鮮人の就職・婚姻の状況、エスニックコミュニティの定義、フィールドワークを行う際に直面した困難、在日朝鮮・韓国人の多様性に関して等、多くの質問があがった。10名を超える参加者による活発な議論が交わされた。

【概要 / Abstract】
  Since the end of World War II, North Korean community in Japan maintained their acculturation strategy of separation for around fifty years. My earlier study has found that the community started to change their acculturation strategy toward the integration since early and mid-2000. It was examined that there were several internal and external factors which caused such moves including state policy changes, demographic and generational changes of both Japanese and Koreans. And it was found that the community was on the transitional stage changing from separation acculturation strategy toward integration. And my recent case study investigated the current situations of the community and examined that the community is more advanced toward the integration and utilise their experiences in enhancing the integration of other ethnic groups’ adaptation which shows very new aspects of ethnic relations in Japan.
