【題 名】 『世説新語補』から読み解く江戸時代／江戶時代《世說新語補》的閱讀與接受
【要旨】
江戸時代、民衆や官僚、私塾のなかで『世説新語補』を読むことが大流行しました。 なぜ、この時代に『世説新語補』の購読がブームになったのでしょうか？ また、この時代に『世説新語補』はどのように読まれたのでしょうか？ 江戸時代の漢学や歴史教育、書物の出版状況との関係から考えてみます。
【要旨】
江戶時期《世說》閱讀熱潮之爆發，憑藉民間商船貿易與國內印刷術之改良，得以蓬勃發展。自元祿七年至嘉永五年止，明清出版之《世說》刊本及其注疏、續仿著作的東渡與在日刊刻情形，可謂盛況空前，尤以王世貞刪補《世說新語補》為官學及私塾所青睞，先後以官版、民間書肆開版印刷。於時，文人對是書抱持極高研究熱忱，相關注解、箋疏乃至和漢續仿著作，如雨後春筍般大量出現；甚有書名冠以「世說」作為賣點者，儼然成為一種新趨勢，從而改寫平安朝劉義慶《世說》之閱讀現象。
至此，我們不禁要問：何以新渡《世說補》傳入日本不久，便改寫自平安朝以來《世說》閱讀熱潮之歷史現象，並受到時下學者、文人青睞？又由現存資料觀之，為是書進行箋疏、注解的文人，悉為當時著名漢學家及僧侶，為何這群人特別重視此書之價值？他們如何解讀文本？詮釋之際又寄託怎樣理念或學派思想？而極力倡導文教的德川幕府，奉行朱子學並立為國教，對於內容飽受衛道人士非議，將它視為有害名教、清談曠蕩的《世說補》，如何看待？上述幾個問題，本文將以江戶時期《世說補》注釋書籍之出版情形為出發點加以考察，企圖管窺《世說補》閱讀熱潮發生之主要原因，及當時漢文、歷史教育間之關連性。

【Title】 The study of Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu during the Edo period
【Abstract】
Shi Shuo Xin Yu 世說新語 became popularized in the Edo period 江戶時代 via civilian merchant ship between China and Japan as well as the improvement of typography. From 1694 to 1853, Shi Shuo Xin Yu (the Ming and Qing Dynasty versions 明清刊本) with their commentaries and pastiches spread to Japan prosperously. Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu 世說新語補 (the version composed by Shizhen Wang 王世貞) was the most popular one in both official and private schools was printed out in a large amount. Japanese litterateurs had great enthusiasm on studying it then many local commentaries and pastiche suddenly come out. Even people started to add “Shi Shuo” 世說 into book name for better selling. This new trend totally changed the custom in Heian era 平安朝 that only the nobility can read “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” and use it in writings.
The followings are questions I try to answer. Why newly arrived Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu brings about new situation and scholars enjoy it so much? The people who annotate Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu are all famous Japanese sinologist and monks. Why they highly value this book and how they explain it with their own beliefs and ideology? How Tokugawa Shogunate 德川幕府 which establishing Zhuism 朱子學 as state religion and promoting education deals with this book while dogmatist greatly critic it? This article will investigate the publishing situation of commentaries of Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu, then explain the major reasons lead to a upsurge of this book and its connection to Chinese literature and history education
