東文研セミナー 「The Making of a Marjaʿ」のお知らせ
東京大学東洋文化研究所は、早稲田大学イスラーム地域研究機構との共催にて、エクセター大学のサッジャード・リズヴィー博士をお迎えし、以下の要領で東文研セミナー開催します。日本でも学界・一般を問わず関心が高く、研究の蓄積のあるテーマでの講演です。活発な議論が行われうるものと期待しています。平日の夕方という時間設定ではありますが、その分時間を少し遅くしています。皆さまぜひご参加下さい。事前登録などは一切不要です。（文責：森本一夫）

Lecture Title: The Making of a Marjaʿ: Sistani and Shii Religious Authority in the Contemporary Age

Abstract:
Anyone interested in the question of contemporary Islamic religious authority in the world today will be familiar with the person of Ayatollah Sistani, the leading Shii religious authority in the world with an extensive network of offices. In this lecture, I shall examine the phenomenon of the modern institution of Shii religious authority considering how Sistani came to hold the pre-eminent position that he does today, and juxtapose his model of authority to previous ones associated with Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran and Ayatollah Baqir al-Sadr in Iraq.
