We are delighted to announce that the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia, The University of Tokyo, will host a Tobunken seminar, “Japonya'da Sohbet-i Osmaniye-8,” on August 25, 2025. The purpose of Japonya'da Sohbet-i Osmaniye is to promote scholarly exchange by bringing together emerging scholars in Japan and leading scholars from around the world in the field of Ottoman history. As the discussant for the eighth Sohbet, we are honored to have Professor Betül İpşirli Argıt from Marmara University, Turkey, with us. Professor İpşirli Argıt is a renowned specialist on the history of the Ottoman imperial court. The workshop will be held in person. The language of the workshop is English. No pre-registration is required. We look forward to your participation.
