【Commentator】 Yasushi Oki (Professor, IASA, The University of Tokyo)

【Abstract】
“Tong Si Tang Diary”, collected in Seikado Bunko, was written by Huang Shi,a Qing literatus. Huang Shi’s life and artworks have rarely been mentioned in the current study. According to the diary, we can draw a chronicle of the author’s life. It also includes a drama manuscript called “Si You Tang Li Yan,” which has so many differences from the Chinese domestic version. Based on the differences between these two versions, we can see that Huang changed his thoughts in his later years.
