【題名 / Title】 いかにして伝記を著すか：14世紀コプト聖人伝の場合 / The compilation of hagiographies in fourteenth-century Coptic society
【要旨 / Abstract】
伝記とは個人の一生の事跡を記した記録であるが、その内容には意図的であるにせよ、そうでないにせよ、 虚実入り組む場合が多い。本報告はイスラーム期エジプトにて著されたコプト聖人伝を例に、聖人を取り巻く 人々の要求や時代背景が伝記の内容に与えた影響について考察する。
Hagiographies are generally perceived to be fictitious in nature. However, what makes a biography work of fiction? By examining various hagiographies of Coptic saints in Islamic Egypt, I explore the practices and strategies of the author(s) in compiling a hagiography.
