To all celebrating the Lunar New Year, and to the Overseas Chinese and Chinese community thriving in Japan, I extend my most sincere greetings.

Soon after ringing in 2024, Japan was met with the daunting challenge of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, which reached a maximum intensity of seven. The Japanese government is wholeheartedly dedicated to reconstruction efforts in the impacted areas.

I am deeply grateful for the international support and generous donations offered to us in response to this crisis. True friendship shines through in times of adversity, as seen in the global support we have received.

In an ever-changing and unpredictable global landscape, Japan remains committed to collaborating with the international community. Embodying the resilience and bravery of the Dragon, we are determined to navigate through these changes and challenges.

May this Year of the Dragon be a time of joy and prosperity for all.

Happy Lunar New Year!
