Following the shooting attack in Munich, Germany, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent the following message to H.E. Dr. Angela Merkel, Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany on July 23.

“As I have learned that the shooting attack occurred in the shopping center in Munich causing numerous casualties. On behalf of the Japanese Government and people, I would like to pray for the deceased, and express my heartfelt sympathy to the injured and their families. In this time of difficulties, Japan stands with Germany. I would like to express my strong solidarity to the German Government and people.“
