1. I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Roh Moo Hyun, who has been elected as the President to-be of the Republic of Korea.

2. Japan-Republic of Korea relations are becoming more important than ever before and I am looking forward to making efforts to cooperate closely with President-elect Roh toward further development of friendly and cooperative relations between Japan and the Republic of Korea, and the Peace, stability and prosperity of Northeast Asia.
