DILAWAR KHAN'S MASJID

@

@This mosque consists of the west prayer room, 4 spans in depth, and corridors of one span on three sides. Because of its central entrance in the direction of the east, it is thought to have been built for the Muslim royal family in Mandu. However, like other early mosques in Dhar and Mandu, the pillars and the ceiling of the room show clear traces of Hindu style, notwithstanding the arch-shaped central mihrab and the three mihrabs on either side of the west prayer room. These elements enable one to assume that this mosque was built by Hindu workmen. (Matsuo Ara)
