Beyond Eurocentrism:
Reexamining Cultural Discourse Strategies to Overcome　Eurocentrism in the Context of Polycentric Multiculturalism

Professor Kang Jung In has been teaching the history of Western Political though. He translated some major Western classics, including Machiavelli’s Prince and Discourses, Locke’s Second Treatise, into Korean. He also published some books on democratic theories and Korean democracy. Now he is more interested in comparative political theory, comparing Eastern with Western political theory. He recently published a book titled Sogujungsimyuirel Numoso (Beyond the Shadow of Eurocentrism) in 2004 which brought him the award of the book of the Year from the Korean Political Science Association. He now serves as the President of Korean Society for Political Thought.
