韓国・高麗大学で2つのワークショップが開催されました

日本学術振興会アジアアフリカ学術基盤形成事業「アジア比較社会学のフロンティア」の事業のとして、韓国・高麗大学で2つのワークショップ「アジアの社会学史:その特徴と独自性はどこにあるか?」と「アジアバロメーターワークショップ2010」を実施しました。

20101218日(土)と19日(日)の両日、高麗大学で上記の2つのワークショップが開催されました。

初日はシニア・セッションで、各国の社会学を代表する研 究者が、みずからの社会学の発展を辿りつつ、そこに見られる課題や特徴について意見交換をしました。そこで共通して見られたのは、欧米、特にアメリカの圧 倒的な影響を受けた世代が戦後社会学の基礎となったこと、こうした世代は「社会発展」や「近代化」に大きな関心を抱きつつも、アジアを横睨みする力が弱 く、みずからの社会の在り方を絶えず欧米との対比から行ってきたことでした。そこでは「社会学の土着化」が大きな課題となりながらも、グローバル化する状 況の中で、どのように公論を作っていくべきか、どのように若手を育てていくかといった共通の課題が見え隠れしていました。

2日目のジュニア・セッションは、7月の東京大学東洋文化研究所でのキックオフを踏まえ、アジアバロメーターの統合データセットを用い、みずからの課題・関心に従って比較研究を行いました。合計15本 の論文が提出され、一部は、自費での参加をした若手研究者もいるなど、多くの熱心な参加者を得ました。多くの研究者は、初めてアジアでの比較をすることも あって、どのような理論枠組みを使い、データをどのように解釈するか、苦心していましたが、こうしたプロセスを経て新しい知見や解釈図式が生まれてくるこ とを確信するセッションでした。

日本学術振興会アジアアフリカ学術基盤形成事業による助成以外に、高麗大学のBK21からも財政的な支援をえることで、2つのワークショップは大成功に終わりました。

そこで報告された論文などについては、同事業のホームページ(http://ricas.ioc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/aasplatform/main.html)に掲載される予定ですが、そのうちのレベルの高い数本の論文は、いずれ専門雑誌などに投稿されることになるでしょう。

なお、来年度のワークショップは台湾・中央研究院社会学研究所が主催する予定となっています。
