The first interdisciplinary faculty workshop, “Frontier Science and Social Ethics,” jointly organized by the University of Chicago and the University of Tokyo

The first interdisciplinary faculty workshop, “Frontier Science and Social Ethics,” jointly organized by the University of Chicago and the University of Tokyo, is scheduled to convene on October 17, 2016 (Mon) in the Main Conference Room of the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia at the University of Tokyo. This workshop is part of the Strategic Partnership project between the two universities. Six scholars from the two universities will share their expertise on ethical and legal issues pertaining to frontier scientific research in medicine, nuclear energy and other fields. At the workshop, participants will also discuss the development of the Strategic Partnership between the two universities. The workshop will be followed by a reception hosted by Prof. Haneda Masashi, the vice-president of the University of Tokyo.
