【Title】
A Construction of Scholarly Network as a means for Preventing Disappearance of a Research Field: The Scholarly Field of Chinese Thought in Japan as a case of my Effort

【Abstract】
During the decline of humanities research in Japan over the past twenty years, studies related to Chinese philosophy are especially in danger of physical extinction (i.e., the elimination of researchers) in the upcoming few decades. Chinese philosophy was once a very popular research field in Japan for over a century until the 1980s. If so, why has it declined so rapidly? Is it necessary to restore this field, and if so, how? I would like to talk about my own experience and efforts to revitalize this research field by means of constructing an international scholarly network of Chinese philosophy.

The seminar will be held in Japanese.
