【Title】 The compilation of hagiographies in fourteenth-century Coptic society
【Abstract】
Hagiographies are generally perceived to be fictitious in nature. However, what makes a biography work of fiction? By examining various hagiographies of Coptic saints in Islamic Egypt, I explore the practices and strategies of the author(s) in compiling a hagiography.
